Truck Full of Flour Falls Freely into Ditch Because of Google Maps Instructions
A truck loaded with flour with license plate number AG 8398 EA had a single accident and fell into a ditch on Jalan Raya Gandusari-Karangan, Trenggalek, on Tuesday (3/9/2024). The truck driven by Eko Wahyudi, a resident of Kandat, Kediri, was suspected of not being able to climb the Kedekan slope, so it reversed and plunged into a ditch.
Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident. Eko Wahyudi and his two passengers survived without the slightest injury. Eko explained that he was on his way to deliver flour from Kandat, Kediri, to Mlinjon Village, Suruh District, Trenggalek.
“I followed the instructions from Google Maps. However, when I arrived at the Kedekan ramp, the truck suddenly stopped. I tried to brake, but the truck kept going backwards. To avoid other vehicles, I turned the truck to the left until it finally entered a ditch,” said Eko about the chronology of events.
Eko also added that this was the first time he had passed this road, so he was not used to the quite challenging terrain. The Kedekan climb is known to be steep and often makes things difficult for drivers who are not familiar with this route.
Gandusari Police Chief, Inspector Katik S.H., confirmed the incident. “It’s true, there has been a single accident with a truck loaded with flour. Currently, our officers together with local residents are trying to evacuate the vehicle that was mired,” said Inspector Katik.
He explained that the truck was moving from south to north. When he reached the Kedekan slope, the truck couldn’t climb uphill and the engine stopped. Even though the driver tried hard to brake, the truck continued to reverse and plunge into a ditch.
“Thankfully, there were no fatalities in this incident, although material losses were quite large. We also urge drivers to be more careful, especially when crossing unknown routes,” he added.
This incident is a reminder for drivers to always be alert and ready to face unexpected road conditions, and not to completely rely on navigation applications without considering actual road conditions.

Tofu factory in Sukabumi caught fire, one house was burnt down
The fire incident occurred in Cisaat District, Sukabumi Regency, on Tuesday afternoon, September 3 2024. Part of Maman’s tofu factory was destroyed by fire.
According to information obtained, the fire occurred in Cibatupos Village, RT 20/RW 06, Cisaat Village, Cisaat District. Apart from the tofu factory, a house unit next to it also caught fire.
Danpos Damkar VI Cisaat, Unang Sofyan, stated that his party received a fire report at around 12.30 WIB. The fire is thought to have started from a spark in the factory’s furnace, which uses husks as fuel. When the wind blows, the sparks are carried to the roof of the building and cause a large fire.
“The fire started from sparks in the hawu using husks. The sparks were carried by the wind and stuck to the roof, causing a fire,” explained Unang when confirmed by detikJabar.
He added that the fire occurred while the factory was operating. Hot weather conditions and flammable materials around the location meant that the fire quickly spread to other areas, including to houses adjacent to the factory.
“The burned area includes factories and flammable materials, such as wood, as well as houses adjacent to the factory,” he said.
The fire was successfully extinguished after firefighters from the Cisaat Command Post and Cibadak Command Post, together with the Cisaat Police, Cisaat Satpol PP, and local residents worked together for 2.5 hours to extinguish the fire.
“The extinguishing process was quite difficult because the road access to the fire location was narrow and congested. In fact, we had to dismantle the dividing wall in the area. Luckily, there was a pond near the crime scene so we could use water from there,” he explained.
As a result of this fire, tofu factory activities had to be completely stopped. Regarding losses, his party is still calculating.
