Liga Asuransi – A wave of major incidents continues to occur in various corners of Indonesia and the world, shaking public attention. Starting from transportation accidents that trigger severe traffic jams to fire disasters that destroy buildings, each of these events has a wide impact, both in terms of safety, economics and risk management. One of the most worrying recent incidents is the threat of the Muara Tembesi Bridge collapsing due to a coal barge colliding with its protective fender. Apart from that, bus accidents, truck rollovers and fires in several locations have added to the list of horrendous incidents. The following is a summary of seven recent events that are in the spotlight and important for us to pay attention to.
The Rosalia Indah bus overturned on the Semarang-Solo toll road, three people were injured
A traffic accident occurred on the Semarang-Solo toll road in the Boyolali area on Sunday morning (26/1/2025). This incident involved the Rosalia Indah bus and a Toyota Agya car, resulting in the bus overturning and causing three people to be injured. One of the victims allegedly suffered a broken bone.
Head of the Boyolali Police Traffic Unit Gakkum, Iptu Budi Purnomo, stated that the accident occurred at around 09.00 WIB at Km 484+400, Brajan Village, Mojosongo District. The bus traveling from Semarang to Solo was about to overtake Agya’s car in front of it by changing lanes.
“When the bus changed lanes, another vehicle was speeding up from behind. The bus driver was forced to swerve to the left to avoid a collision,” explained Inspector Budi. However, this maneuver caused the bus to hit Agya’s car. To avoid a bigger impact, the bus driver turned the steering wheel to the right again, but this step actually caused the bus to swerve and eventually roll over.
The bus carrying 28 passengers rolled to the left, across the middle of the road. Although three people were injured, all passengers in Agya’s car were reported to be safe. “The victims consisted of two people with minor injuries and one person who was suspected of having a fracture,” he added.
Congestion and Evacuation Process
As a result of this accident, traffic flow on the Semarang-Solo toll road experienced long traffic jams. To reduce congestion, Boyolali Police Traffic Unit officers implemented traffic engineering by diverting vehicles out via the Mojosongo toll exit.
Evacuating the overturned bus took up to three hours. This process involved a tow truck from line B (direction Solo-Semarang), which caused temporary closures in both directions. At around 12.00 WIB, the bus was finally successfully moved, and the toll lane was fully open again.
Appeal to Toll Road Users
Inspector Budi appealed to motorists to always obey traffic signs and the specified speed limits, which are between 60 and 80 km/hour. “By complying with regulations, accident fatalities can be minimized,” he said.
This incident is a reminder for all toll road users to remain alert and careful, especially in heavy traffic conditions. In addition, it is important to ensure that the vehicle is in top condition and complies with safety regulations to avoid similar incidents in the future.

Brakes Fail, Truck Loaded with Flour Overturns at Bakauheni Harbor
The accident occurred at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, on Monday morning (27/1/2025), when a tronton truck with plate number BE 8249 OU rolled over after hitting several port facilities. The truck is known to be carrying a load of wheat flour. Luckily, there were no casualties in this incident.
The head of the Bakauheni KSKP, AKP Firman Widya Putra, explained that the incident started when the truck driven by Manus experienced a brake failure problem when crossing KM 01 of the Trans Sumatra toll road. “We confirm that there are no casualties. The truck driver only suffered minor injuries and has been taken to hospital,” he said at the scene.
Accident Chronology
Due to the brakes not working, the truck was traveling at high speed and the driver lost control. The vehicle continued to slide until it finally hit a pillar on the executive pier at Bakauheni Harbor. The truck overturned, causing the load of wheat flour to spill and cover the entrance to the executive pier, thus disrupting the smooth flow of vehicles wishing to cross to Merak Harbor in Banten.
Incident Handling and Impact
To reduce the impact of accidents, the flow of vehicles that usually pass through the executive pier is diverted through the regular ship toll gate. Officers from River, Lake and Ferry Transport (ASDP) also immediately evacuated the truck and its cargo to a safer location and repaired damaged port facilities.
“Vehicles have been temporarily diverted to another route so that services at the port continue to run. ASDP officers have also taken quick steps to deal with the damage,” added AKP Firman.
The Importance of Vehicle Inspection
This accident adds to the list of incidents at Bakauheni Port, which is the main connecting route between Sumatra and Java. Authorities urge drivers to ensure their vehicles are in top condition before travelling, especially the brake system, which plays an important role in driving safety.
“A thorough inspection of vehicles is very necessary so that incidents like this do not happen again,” stressed AKP Firman.
Meanwhile, related parties are still carrying out investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident and evaluating the safety system at Bakauheni Port to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Muara Tembesi Bridge Threatened with Collapse, Coal Barge Crashes into Protective Fender
A serious incident occurred on the Muara Tembesi Bridge, which connects villages in Batanghari Regency, Jambi, when a barge carrying thousands of tons of coal hit the protective iron on the main pillar supporting the bridge. The violent impact that occurred on Wednesday afternoon (25/1) caused the protective iron (fender) to fall into the Batanghari River, and caused the bridge support pillars to sway.
According to the Head of the Jambi Road and Bridge Implementation Agency (BPJN), Ibnu Kurniawan, this incident was revealed through surveillance camera (CCTV) footage installed under the bridge. In the footage, a tugboat named Ten Power can be seen pulling a barge which hits the fender until it breaks. This is not the first time a similar incident has occurred, because the fender has been hit twice by the same barge.
As a result of this collision, the fender fell into the river, causing the bridge to no longer have sufficient protection around its supporting pillars. If this damage is not repaired immediately, there is a big potential that the main pillar supporting the bridge will be hit again, which could cause fatal damage or even collapse the bridge. This condition certainly endangers the safety of road users and local residents.
Relevant parties urge coal transport companies to immediately take corrective action to prevent further damage and reduce the risk of accidents or bridge collapse. As a vital route connecting villages, the Muara Tembesi Bridge is very important for community mobility and the local economy.
