Delay of Departure of Pioneer Ship Sabuk Nusantara 102 Triggers Commotion at Port
Monday (15/4/2024) afternoon, a number of passengers who wanted to board the Sabuk Nusantara 102 pioneer ship bound for Poso-Bitung were forced to swallow disappointment because the ship’s departure was delayed. Delays caused by late payments for fuel oil (BBM) have resulted in worry and inconvenience for prospective passengers.
According to Hasril, staff of PT Mandala Sejahtera Abadi Poso Branch as agent for the pioneer ship 102, this delay occurred because the bank was closed, so payment transactions could not be carried out. “We have been making efforts since Friday (12/4/2024), but because banks are closed for holidays and holidays with Eid 2024, we have not been able to make payments,” explained Hasril.
The ship which was scheduled to depart on Monday (15/4/2024) at around 11.00 WITA finally had to postpone its departure until Tuesday (16/4/2024) at 13.00 WITA. As an agent, his party has coordinated with the head office in Surabaya to anticipate this payment problem.
This situation creates uncertainty for passengers, especially as some of them may have tight travel plans. However, as compensation, the agent provided assistance to passengers who were forced to stay overnight at the port by providing food.
This pioneer ship 102 carries a total of 19 tons of fuel round trip (PP) from Poso to Bitung. The ship’s route includes the ports of Poso, Mantangisi, Wakai, Una-una, Malenge, Popolii, Pasokan, Gorontalo, to Bitung. After arriving in Bitung, the ship will return to Poso via the same route.
This delay highlights the importance of a smooth payment process and effective coordination between various related parties to maintain the smooth running of sea transportation, especially during busy times such as the Eid homecoming return flow.
