JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A water tanker truck with police number B 9719 TFU overturned in Cipinang Cempedak, Jatinegara, Monday (17/4/2023) afternoon.

The driver named Adi, said the tanker truck he was driving overturned while trying to avoid a collision with a motorbike that was overtaking in the fast lane of Jalan DI Panjaitan.

“Want to avoid the motorbike? I’m confused about where to go. Instead of crashing into someone’s motorbike, I don’t want to make sacrifices,” said Adi, quoted from TribunJakarta.com, Monday (17/4/2023).

In a panic to avoid an accident, Adi was forced to swerve so that his driving vehicle crashed into the concrete fence of the Wiyoto Wiyono toll gate on Jalan DI Panjaitan.

The violent collision resulted in the front of the tanker being crushed due to its overturning. Luckily, there were no victims in that incident.

“Before, I was from Bogor going to Babelan. The position of tanker truck was loaded with eight cubic meters of water,” said Adi. As a result of the accident, water loads that should have been distributed to consumers spilled over to inundate the Wiyoto Wiyono toll gate, and traffic jams on Jalan DI Panjaitan came to a standstill.

The traffic flow gradually returned to normal after Jasa Marga officers and the East Jakarta Traffic Unit Accident Unit evacuated the tanker truck that was involved in the accident using a tow truck.

It was stuck for about an hour. The tanker truck was brought by a police tow truck (East Jakarta Traffic Unit Laka Satlantas),” said Danu, a resident.

Four Houses Damaged by the M6,6 Earthquake

JAKARTA – BNPB continues to coordinate with several BPBDs after the earthquake with magnitude (M)6.6, which occurred on Friday (14/4), at 16.55 WIB. The latest developments to this day, Saturday (15/4), at 09.00 WIB, four houses were damaged due to this geological phenomenon.

The BNPB Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) informed that the earthquake damaged four houses. A total of 2 houses were damaged in West Java Province, with details of 1 heavily damaged in Banjar Village, Banjar District, and 1 other slightly damaged in Cikembar Village, Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency.

Meanwhile, in East Java Province, 2 houses were also affected by the earthquake shocks. Two houses suffered moderate damage, each in Darsono Village, Arjasa District, Jember Regency, and the other in Panggul Village, Panggul District, Trenggalek Regency.

Meanwhile, BPBD Bali Province confirmed that 1 resident died when the earthquake occurred. The victim, who died aged 5 years in Marga Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali, was allegedly shocked when the shaking occurred.

The update of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) parameters stated the earthquake’s magnitude was M6.9. The earthquake, centered 65 km northwest of Tuban, East Java, was at a depth of 643 km. Based on BMKG modeling, the earthquake was at sea and had no potential for a tsunami.

The following is information received by the Pusdalops BNPB from several BPBDs. The earthquake shock was felt by residents of Banjar City, West Java, for 3 to 5 seconds.

In the Jember Regency area, residents felt an earthquake with the same duration, around 3 to 5 seconds. BPBD reports that the situation in the community is without panic.

In the Surabaya City area, the BPBD informed that the earthquake shocks were at a weak intensity, around 1 to 2 seconds. The situation is under control, and the residents have no panic.

Meanwhile, in several areas, such as Tuban, Rembang, and Blora Regencies, the BPBD is still monitoring their areas.

Based on BMKG analysis, the phenomenon is a deep earthquake due to slab pull deformation activity on the Indo-Australian plate, which is subducted under the Java Sea. Subsequent analysis the source mechanism shows that the earthquake has a downward movement or normal fault.

Judging from the MMI parameter or modified Mercalli intensity, the earthquake had an impact and was felt by residents in the Kuta area with an MMI V scale. Meanwhile, in Karangkates, Trenggalek, Gianyar, Tulungagung, Trengalek, Nganjuk, Pacitan, Kediri, Tuban, Garut, and Mataram, the intensity is felt on the IV MMI scale. In the Pelabuhan Ratu area, Labuan, Tabanan, the intensity of III MMI was identified.

The higher the level of the MMI scale, the potential impact of an earthquake can be higher. BMKG describes V MMI as vibrations felt by almost all residents. Many people wake up.

BMKG reported no aftershocks or aftershocks were detected until Friday afternoon (14/4), at 17.30 WIB.

Post-fire Slop Tank, Booster Station Km 77 Pertagas Banyuasin, is back in operation.

KOMPAS.com – PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) Communication Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager Imam Rismanto said that his party had resumed operating the Booster Station Km 77 Banyuasin, South Sumatra (Sumsel).

“After checking and going through various stages of safety, we reactivate the pump so that the oil distribution to consumers can return to normal conditions,” he said in a written statement received by Kompas.com Monday (17/4/2023).

The Booster Station is a gas oil pumping station owned by Pertagas in Lubuk Karet Village, Betung District. This area experienced a fire due to lightning that hit the Booster Station Km 77 Banyuasin on Sunday (16/4/2023).

After the fire, Imam explained, his party had operated the 8-inch diameter Tempino-Plaju pipeline along 262 kilometers (km) to distribute petroleum to various consumers in South Sumatra. Pertagas has successfully flowed crude oil of 15,717 barrels per day (BOPD).

Regarding the fire incident, Imam said the incident in the slop tank or holding tank area at 15.27 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) was successfully extinguished at 16.24 WIB thanks to the fast response from the Pertagas team on duty at the location.

He ensured that his party had carried out a health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) mitigation process for the blackout and security at the slop tank in the Banyuasin Km 77 Booster Station area.

Furthermore, Imam explained that the fire was successfully extinguished using a fire pump, foam chamber, and fire trucks available at the location.

“The quick reaction of all units on duty at the time of the incident is a sign of the alertness and professionalism of Pertagas officers. All units and facilities used for extinguishing also work properly, as they should,” he explained.

Imam revealed that the fire did not cause any injuries or fatalities. Pertagas as part of Pertamina’s gas sub holding, is currently focusing on restoring post-fire operating facilities.

“The slop tank that caught fire is storage to accommodate the remaining operational oil and is not a distribution storage,” said Imam.

Booster Station Km 77 is a collection station so it does not significantly impact the process of distributing crude oil to consumers.
