As we know that every golfer always wants to get a longer stroke distance, understanding you better (forgiving) is an important thing that golfers always want. For this reason, Callaway, one of the leading players in the golf world, believes that its newest offering can provide the best of both worlds.
Ever since in the game of golf there has been a close correlation between distance and forgiving, both of which are like married. With drivers getting more forgiving, and the more distance that can be made on the green instead of the sweet spot.
And that’s a fact of modern driver design. Each iteration aims to produce higher ball speeds in more clubface areas than the previous generation.
Callaway believes it’s because they own the technology. They say the latest Rogue ST driver is “the fastest and most stable driver ever.” When the Jailbreak was introduced in the company’s GBB Epic drivers in 2017, the two internal bars connecting the crown and sole were designed to create more stability at the clubface, the purpose of which was to increase ball speed on off-center hits. And when Callaway started using the supercomputer technology that created Artificial Intelligence for facial creation of Epic Flash drivers in 2019, the goal was to maximize faces for less spin, which resulted in more spacing and added forgiving.
With the Rogue ST, Jailbreak has morphed into a four-sided Speed Frame just behind the face and uses A.I. to further refine Flash’s face, complete with spacing and forgiving in mind. Also added to the technology is 26 grams of tungsten placed on the bottom and deep inside the club head which can push the moment of inertia (MOI) higher, contributing to stability and increased speed on off-center hits.
The result of combining distance and forgiving at its best is the Rogue ST Max. There is a counterbalancing bias and it has the highest MOI in the Rogue line, which should match the cross sectional needs of the largest golfers.
The Rogue ST Max D is designed to help players who want a balance between aiming hitting and seeking forgiving above all else. The Max D is built with internal and external weighting that promotes balanced results – or at least straightens the wedge. It also has a high MOI, reduced facial development and a more upright lie.
For players who are looking for a spin off on a tee off – and spins are usually the same high – the driver for you is the Rogue ST Max LS.
Without a bias counterweight, neutral ball movement is encouraged and with less spin. Players can rely on swings to direct the ball in one direction instead of with a club head arrangement.
A fast-paced player who doesn’t want to see the ball hook, suits the Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS, which is the model used by many of Callaway’s staff on the PGA Tour. This is a 450cc head with a low turning neutral-to-turn.

Increasing the speed of the ball can lead to longer distances, and the extra stability means that your shots outside the ideal hitting area still fly straighter and farther.

The face of a Rogue ST driver varies by loft and club type.
ST stands for speed tuned, and to help create even more speed, each driver’s face is created in a unique way. Callaway fed data into a supercomputer a series of parameters and information based on the type of golfer they had in mind, then used artificial intelligence to create the most efficient and best-performing facial designs.
The result of thousands of simulated strokes using thousands of face designs. Working together, thicker and thinner areas allow most of the face to maximize flex results. Callaway creates a different face for each loft version of the four Rogue ST Max drivers.
Within each club head, Callaway adds an updated version of its Speed Tuned Jailbreak Speed Frame. This is the structure that connects the sole and club crown behind the hitting area. It looks like a door and stiffens the head to prevent it from deforming when the face strikes the ball.
Instead of the energy being wasted, it is transferred back to the ball for greater distance. Callaway has used Speed Frames in the past, but this one is closer to the face and uses straighter, firmer internal bars to help it perform better.

When looking down in a position to direct the ball, golfers will notice a large, matte-black carbon fiber crown and a larger head from face to back than most Callaway drivers. That extra space allows Callaway drivers to increase their moment of inertia by adding something new. The Tungsten Speed Cartridge is a large weight on the back of the head that is affixed in a thermoplastic polyurethane sleeve and held under a copper-tight aluminum cap using a pair of screws.
The main feature of the Tungsten Speed Cartridge is the position of the extra mass, up to 23 grams, as far back and down as possible. On off-center hits, the added weight helps keep the face square and moving forward through impact, so shots hitting outside the sweet spot fly straighter and maintain more ball speed.

Each standard Rogue ST driver with adjustable hosel to allow players and fitters to reduce the loft by 1 degree or increase it by 2 degrees, Callaway released four different Rogue ST models to ensure one is suitable for every type of golfer.
Model Callaway believes the one that will suit most players is the Rogue ST Max (9, 10.5 and 12 degrees). Has the highest moment of inertia and the least bias in the draw. Compared to last season’s Epic Max, it produces 250 rpm less spin and 1 mph more ball speed, and its increased stability results in 11 percent tight dispersion.

The Rogue Max LS (9, 10.5 and 12 degrees) is unique in that it is designed to have a very high moment of inertia while creating less spin. Typically, low-spin drivers sacrifice some moment of inertia and stability by shifting the center of gravity forward, which reduces spin. However, the Rogue Max LS was designed with the face of A.I. which reduces spin, so Callaway was able to build a club that results in lower flight while keeping weight back and maintaining stability.

The Rogue ST Max D (9 and 10.5 degrees) has the most traction bias of the four Rogue ST drivers. In addition to the Tungsten Speed Cartridge, it has an extra heavy screw in the heel of the sole to help the golfer rotate and seal the face through the impact area. Despite having the high moment of inertia that all Rogue ST drivers feature, the two weights create a greater right-to-left bias than last season’s Epic Max with its moveable weight shifting to the heel.

The three clubs have a design of 460 cubic meters. The fourth model, the Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS (9 and 10.5 degrees), has a smaller 450 cubic centimeters head designed for elite golfers who want more maneuverability.
