Building shop in Kramat Jati burned down, losses reached 500 million

Dozens of East Jakarta Fire Department (Damkar) personnel moved quickly to overcome the fire that hit the Makmur Sejati Building Materials Store (TB) in the Kramatjati area. Head of Operations for the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Department, Gatot Sulaeman, said that 68 personnel and 17 fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire which was thought to have originated from an electrical short circuit on the second floor of the building.

This incident occurred at around 10.26 WIB, and it is estimated that the fire came from the employee’s room on the second floor. Although employees and shop owners do not know the details of how the fire started, the fire quickly grew and spread to the first floor due to the large number of flammable objects around the location.

Luckily, there were no casualties in this incident, but material losses were estimated at IDR 500 million. The extinguishing process was carried out persistently, and the fire was only successfully extinguished at around 11.48 WIB. Despite significant material losses, the efforts of the East Jakarta Damkar were successful in preventing further impacts from this incident.

A cosmetic shop in Cirebon City was destroyed by fire, allegedly caused by a generator exploding. Losses Reach Hundreds of Millions

A fire tragedy struck a cosmetics shop in Cirebon City, West Java, on Tuesday afternoon (2/1/2023). Even though this incident caused losses of hundreds of millions of rupiah, the good news is that there were no casualties in this incident.

The suspected cause of the fire was the explosion of an electric generator, which caused the fire to spread quickly and completely engulf the cosmetics shop located on Jalan Pekiringan, Cirebon City. This incident caused panic among local traders who tried to save their merchandise.

Initial extinguishing efforts were hampered by strong winds and heavy traffic around the location. The firefighting team from the Cirebon City BPBD finally succeeded in extinguishing the fire after being dispatched to the location.

Head of the Fire and Rescue Preparedness Section, Nurjaman, said that there is a strong suspicion that it came from the explosion of an electric generator. Material losses are estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah, adding to the dark record of this shopping center which previously witnessed a toy shop fire on the eve of Christmas mass. This incident shows the need for vigilance and better management of the risk of fire in this densely populated location.

Deadly Accident Between Bus and Truck Loaded with Earth Nails on the Ngawi Solo Toll Road, Two Drivers Killed by Earth Nails and Dozens of Bus Passengers Rushed to Hospital

A tragic accident occurred on the Ngawi-Solo Toll Road on Wednesday (3/1/2024), involving a teacher’s group bus and a trontoon truck loaded with earth nails. In this incident, two victims died, each of whom was the driver of the two vehicles.

The truck driver, David Angga Fauzi (30), a resident of Ngrame Village, Mojokerto Regency, was trapped under a pile of concrete nails for several hours before finally dying after being successfully evacuated. Meanwhile, the bus attendant, Anugrah Aviciena Arif (23), a resident of Kedawung Kulon Village, Pasuruan Regency, died at the scene.

The chronology of the accident began when the teacher’s group bus heading to Yogyakarta hit a trontoon truck at KM 567 of the Ngawi-Solo Toll Road, Bangunrejo Kidul Village, Kedunggalar District, Ngawi Regency, East Java. The bus carrying 36 passengers was driven by Muhammad Basri (48), a resident of Kedawung Kulon Village, Pasuruan Regency.

It is suspected that the bus driver was about to overtake a tronton truck loaded with earth nail concrete driven by Suwignyo (55), a resident of Ngrame Village, Mojokerto Regency. Unfortunately, the bus driver’s negligence caused a collision and hit a load of earth nailed concrete.

Head of Ngawi Police Traffic Unit, AKP M Sapari, indicated that the accident was caused by the Restu bus driver’s lack of alertness, especially in the morning when he was prone to fatigue and drowsiness.

“Dozens of bus passengers have been rushed to hospital to receive more intensive treatment. However, officers are still having difficulty evacuating the vehicles and need the help of a crane to lift the two vehicles from the edge of the toll road,” said AKP M Sapari.

This tragic incident provides a serious note regarding toll road safety, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and caution when driving, especially during vulnerable hours such as the morning.

Deadly Accident at Puncak Ciloto, Light Steel Truck Falls into a Ravine, Driver and Cleaner Suffer Serious Injuries

A truck loaded with light steel had a fatal accident on Jalan Raya Puncak Ciloto, Cipanas District, Cianjur Regency. The incident occurred at around 07.30 WIB on Wednesday (3/1/2024) and caused the truck to fall into a fairly deep ravine.

Although this incident resulted in serious injuries to the truck driver and attendant, fortunately there were no fatalities. The two of them were successfully evacuated after being trapped between the wreckage of a truck that was destroyed in the accident.

According to information from the Head of Traffic Accident Unit for Cianjur Police, Inspector Hadi Kurniawan, the accident started when the truck was driving from Bogor towards Cianjur. When crossing a curved and downhill road, the truck hit a box car in front of it. The driver then swerved to the left, causing the vehicle to fall into a ravine.

“The driver and maid suffered serious injuries and have been rushed to the Cimacan Regional Hospital for medical treatment,” he said.

Preliminary estimates suggest that this accident may have been caused by the driver being drowsy, which made it difficult for him to control the vehicle. The truck that fell into the ravine was successfully evacuated with the help of a crane, and is now being investigated further by the Traffic Accident Unit.

This incident emphasizes the importance of being careful when driving, especially in winding and downhill areas, as well as the importance of safety equipment to reduce the risk of injury in an accident.
