“Near the Minut Regency Government roundabout, the witness in front saw the man Erik driving a car holding a cellphone with his left hand answering calls via cellphone,” said Julio.
The driver’s colleague warned them not to drive while using a cell phone. But not long after, the car suddenly swerved to the upside.
“The car swerved to the left without being controlled by the driver and immediately turned upside down with a position on the route from Manado to Bitung,” he said.
As a result of the accident, an officer who participated in the fire truck group was killed. The victim who died was named Jhony Tamailang (41).
“With this incident, the victim, Jhony Tamailang, died,” he said.
Meanwhile, three other people, including the driver, were injured. Each of Erik Tombeng, Osbaldo, and Wensley Lakaemor.
“Currently, the injured victims are being treated by the medical team at Maria Walanda Maramis Hospital, and the dead victims will be taken to the funeral home in Saronsong II Village, Airmadidi District,” he concluded.

Mecca residents shared videos on social media platforms of cars being swept away by the swift currents. The streets filled with rainwater as the sewage system appeared to be clogged.

Mecca is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites for Muslims worldwide. Mecca’s Grand Mosque was submerged when the congregation got soaked in the mosque’s courtyard.
The National Meteorological Center, on Friday evening, issued a mild warning, telling people to be aware of heavier rains in the coming days in parts of the Mecca, Medina, and Tabuk regions.
Last month, the city of Jeddah recorded 179 mm of rain in one day on November 24 between 08:00 and 14:00. The figure breaks a record set in 2009 when 90 mm of rain fell, killing more than 120 people. After the flood, schools in the city were closed.
Meanwhile, two of the most famous universities in Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz University and Jeddah University, had their first-semester final exams postponed.

PALU Company – The mining operations and nickel smelter factory of PT Gunbuster Nickel Industri (GNI) in North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi), again claimed lives.
At least 2 people were reported dead due to being trapped in a crane at the smelter factory after an explosion of furnace 2 at the smelter factory Thursday (22/12) early morning.
The victim was an employee of PT GNI who operated the crane, domiciled from Parigi Moutong Regency, and was undergoing a training period. The other victim was from Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, the crane’s senior staff.
“WALHI Central Sulawesi noted that nickel mining activities in North Morowali Regency have brought disaster and continued danger to the people who are around the PT GNI mine,” said the Head of Advocacy and Campaign for Walhi Central Sulawesi, Aulia Hakim, in a written statement received by MAL Online, Saturday (24/24/2011) 12).

- 18 People were Trapped in Gold Mine Avalanche in Xinjiang
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING – At least 18 workers were trapped underground due to a gold mine in Ili Prefecture, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, China, landslide. China’s Ministry of Emergencies (MEM), Monday (26/12/2022), sent a team to oversee the rescue operation for the victims.
Chinese media reported that as many as 40 workers were underground when the incident occurred on Saturday (24/12/2022) at 13.40 local time (12.40 WIB) in a gold mine area managed by Western Region Gold Co.
Twenty-two people were brought to the surface, while 18 workers were still being rescued by ventilating, said Lu Wei, head of security for the Xinjiang Nonferrous Metal Industry Group Co, which oversees Western Region Gold Co.
Lu revealed that the officers experienced significant difficulties rescuing the victims.
“The tunnel conditions are very complicated, and the rocks around the crash site are unstable,” he said.
The Ili authorities have managed to identify the victims trapped underground, consisting of five residents of Sichuan Province and 13 residents.
China’s Minister of Emergency Affairs, Wang Xiangxi, asked his team, which consists of mining accident rescue experts, to do everything in their power to help with the rescue efforts.
“Every effort must be made to save those trapped,” the minister was quoted as saying by China Daily.
At least 300 rescue personnel from various levels and 467 units of rescue equipment have been dispatched to the mine accident site in southwest China.

- TNI Member and 2 Children Killed by a Train in Probolinggo
A motorcycle accident was hit by a train in Probolinggo City, East Java. (M Rofiq/detikJatim)
Probolinggo – A Honda Supra 125 motorcycle with number N-4952-PU was hit by a Tawangalun train on the Banyuwangi-Malang route, East Java. Three people, who were members of the TNI and their two children, died in the incident.
The incident occurred at an unbarred crossing in Ketapang Village, Kademangan District, Probolinggo City, at 10.00 WIB, Monday (26/12/2022). The motorbike was dragged for more than 1 kilometer.
While the 3 people who were riding it, namely a man was carrying his 2 young children, died instantly after the collision.
“This motorbike from the south wanted to go north to crash (collision) with a train,” said Junaidi when met by detikJatim at the scene of the incident, as reported by detikJatim.
The victim was a member of the TNI.
Supra driver who was hit by a train (KA) and was a TNI member on duty at the 0820 Probolinggo Kodim. As a result of being hit by the Tawangalun train, the Banyuwangi-Malang relation at the crossing without a doorstop, the victim and his 2 children died instantly.

- Plane Crashes on California Beach USA, Kills Former Mayor
SANTA MONICA, KOMPAS.com – A plane crash occurred on the coast of Santa Monica, California, United States (US), which killed one person and is being investigated by local authorities on Friday (23/12) /2022).
Video footage shows the Cessna 150 plane hitting a stretch of sand hard on Thursday (22/12/2022) and then flipping over. The location of the plane crash just meters from the world-famous Santa Monica pier is a popular tourist spot.
Beachgoers watched helplessly as the pilot appeared to try to land on the sand at the water’s edge, but the light plane capsized when it hit the waves. Quoted to the AFP news agency, emergency workers rushed to save the pilot and passengers.
95-year-old passenger Rex Minter, mayor of Santa Monica in the 1960s, was killed in the crash. So far, there is no information about the pilot’s condition.
US Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said an investigation was underway. “The pilot reported engine trouble after departing from Santa Monica Airport,” he said.
Eyewitness Josh Feenberg said he and a friend were on the beach when the plane went down. “My friend saw the plane flying low, and (he was) confused,” Feenberg told ABC 7.
