Learn from a Deadly Accident in Hunan China Involving 49 Vehicles<\/b><\/p>\n

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A fatal accident involving 49 vehicles occurred in Wangcheng District, Hunan Province, China at around 17.00 local time, Saturday (4\/2\/2023).<\/span><\/p>\n

This very fast event, is an accumulation of five accidents that took place in a span of 10 minutes. As a result, 16 people were reported dead and 66 others injured and have been taken to local hospitals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Launching China Daily, Sunday (5\/2\/2023), now local officials are still conducting an investigation regarding this accident. But according to reports from residents, a burning truck was seen which eventually hit a number of cars in front.<\/span><\/p>\n

“All of the 66 injured people have been admitted to hospital. Eight of them were seriously injured but remain in stable condition,” Changsha Traffic Police said.<\/span><\/p>\n

As of Sunday, 5 February 2023, it was reported that 182 firefighters had been dispatched to the location for rescue operations and suppressed the negative impact of the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to this incident, Training Director of Safety Defensive Consultant Indonesia (SDCI) Sony Susmana reminded again of the importance of keeping emotions in check and always manage time management when driving.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Please note that China is one of the busiest countries with traffic recently. This is because they just relaxed restrictions on social activities after the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said when contacted by Kompas.com, Sunday (5\/2\/2023).<\/span><\/p>\n

“So the mobility of the population is limited on the road. Of course, these conditions trigger accidents due to emotional, ego, fatigue and aggressive factors. So it’s like a time bomb leading to an accident if it’s not controlled (driving pattern),” continued Sony.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an effort to prevent similar conditions from happening, he stated that it is better for motorists to manage their emotions and time, such as avoiding traffic jams by preparing a time and travel route.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Then prepare the driver mentally and physically. That way, everything can be controlled properly,” said Sony.<\/span><\/p>\n
