We were shocked by a bus accident that entered the ravine in the tourist area of Guci, Tegal, Central Java (Central Java). As a result of the accident, it was mentioned that one victim died, and dozens of people were seriously and lightly injured.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Amateur video footage shows a red tour bus sliding towards the driver, and several people can be seen trying to hold it back, but then the bus enters a ravine in a toppled position on the riverbed. The location is under a bridge which is a highway.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the residents said the bus was parked during the accident. The driver was outside the bus and heating the tour bus\u2019s engine. However, the bus suddenly moved and walked toward the bridge. Next, the vast vehicle plunged directly into the abyss.<\/span><\/p>\n

It must be admitted that charter bus accidents have become an event that happens too often in Indonesia. In addition to causing casualties and injuries, tourist bus accidents also damage the image of Indonesian tourism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many factors still cause charter bus accidents, such as lack of law enforcement and road safety, poorly maintained vehicles, and drivers\u2019 ignorance of their duties. As a result, the public and travelers have become distrustful of Indonesia’s tourism transportation services.<\/span><\/p>\n

To overcome this problem, cooperation between relevant parties is needed to improve the safety and quality of Indonesian tourism transportation services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The government must provide strict law enforcement to those who do not meet safety standards in transportation. In addition, tourist vehicles must undergo regular maintenance to be always in good condition and safe to use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Drivers should also be provided with adequate training and education to improve their skills and knowledge in driving tourist vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n

As customers, we must choose a transportation company that has a good reputation and meets safety standards. Do not hesitate to report unsafe behavior found on tourism vehicles. Working together can improve Indonesia’s tourism transportation services’ safety and quality.<\/span><\/p>\n
